For 25 years, ERRChina’s China Academic Consortium (CAC) has nurtured Chinese and Western scholars, cultivating fertile ground for scholarly exchange and research, and serving the general public’s understanding of China and Chinese Christianity.

Upcoming Events

  • ANNUAL MEMBERS CONFERENCE

In March of each year, CAC organizes a multi-disciplinary, multi-day special event to encourage dialogue and collaboration between Chinese and Western scholars, and institutional delegates from universities and seminaries across the US and Canada.

  • MONTHLY CHINESE SCHOLAR FORUM

Each month, CAC facilitates an open discussion and workshop in Mandarin Chinese among Chinese scholars on timely and pertinent topics.

  • MONTHLY MEMBERS LECTURE

Each month, CAC sponsors a lecture by well-known theologians and Biblical scholars on topics relevant to Christian scholars.

  • ANNUAL CHINESE EVANGELICAL THEOLOGICAL FELLOWSHIP COLLOQUIUM

Each year, CAC facilitates the annual Chinese Evangelical Theological Fellowship (CETF). Its purpose is theological reflection on Chinese Christianity.

Accomplishments

  • ANNUAL HONG KONG THEOLOGICAL SEMINAR

For several summers beginning in 2008, CAC hosted annual seminars in Hong Kong on Western worldviews, the history of Christianity, theology, and public ethics.

  • ANNUAL SPECIAL EVENTS IN MAINLAND CHINA

Between 1996 and 2008, CAC co-sponsored special events in Mainland China.

  • Comparative Ethics Conference (2000-2003 and 2008)

  • Philosophy and Religion Symposium (1997-1999)

  • Department of Religious Studies Symposium (1996)


Public Lecture Series

Three times a year, CAC co-organizes a free public lecture for the general public in partnership with ChinaSource and the US-China Catholic Association (USCCA). Each of the three organizations take turns organizing public talks to help Westerners grow in their understanding of historic and contemporary Chinese worldviews.
