• CURRENT RESEARCH PROJECT

In 2020, scholars in China, US and Western Europe committed to collaborating on a comprehensive research project:

"Formations of Contemporary Chinese Theology:Mainland China Church 1949-2019"

This comprehensive research project attempts to present and evaluate the foundations and development of contemporary Chinese theology over the past seven decades (1949-2019).

This 3 year project with a budget of $95,000 has three main objectives:

-          map out the theological landscape of contemporary Chinese Christianity, surveying major theological disciplines

-          integrate profound insights from Chinese Christian intellectuals

-          publish in Chinese a reference tool for Christian scholars, that can serve  as a textbook of Chinese theology

 The project involves 3 main editors and and an extended editorial committee and advisory board. 

The China Academic Consortium's overall goal in promoting this research project is to empower faithful witness within the church in China
