2008 Summer Program
Teaching English To the University Master degree students

Location: Tianjin, China

Length in China: 4 weeks, starting from June 25, 2008

Assignment: Teach Conversational English and Culture

Cost: $2,000 US (Tentative, based on the cost of international airfare)
(Covers team formation, and international round trip travel from the West Coast to Beijing, visa, and travel insurance. Housing on campus. Stipends $8000RMB.)
Program content:
  • Teaching from 8-11 a.m. daily, lecturing either on conversational English or culture
  • Lectures on English and culture by powerpoint presentation
  • 25-30 students per class
  • Credited course, involves grading
Qualifications:
  • Christ-centered lifestyle, teachable, available
  • Bachelor degree with TESL training or teaching experience
  • Able to prepare lesson plans based on the curriculum materials provided by the host institute
  • Good health
  • Commitment to write debriefing report
  • Native English speaker
