New Book written by ERRC teachers for ERRC friends and China Watchers!!
After years of isolation, China has adopted sweeping social and economic reforms. China’s people want to learn professional and technical knowledge, and to understand the West’s cultural and spiritual underpinning. In the 21st century, China’s vast social, political and economic changes have accelerated exchange and dialogue with the West.
However, intellectuals in China have been deeply rooted in the Confucian worldview and deeply wounded by the history of negative encounters with Western Christian nations in modern history. For these reasons, dialogue between the Chinese worldview and the Judeo-Christian worldview has been and continues to be a great challenge.
Incorporated in 1986 in California as a nonprofit Chinese-government recognized, nonprofit agency, ERRC’s ministry in China is primarily about opening doors for such discussion through sending Western teachers and professionals to teach in China's leading universities.
University Teaching Program: The backbone of ERRC, this program matches North American Christian teachers and professionals with leading Chinese universities teaching engineering, law, science, technology, literature, oral and written English, etc. for year, semester and summer terms.
Summer Programs: ERRC offers a number of month-long opportunities to experience Chinese culture through teaching or engaging in culture/language exchange. Summer Teaching Programs engage in intensive English seminars to graduate students. The Summer Bridge Program is team-based with Chinese language learning component..
Management Resource Alliance: Two week to 8 week short term lecture engagements for business professionals. ERRC can help you find the right opportunities to share your knowledge with university students, teachers or government officials. Examples of MRA teams have included lectures in risk management, economics, banking, public policies, business law etc.
Networking-Vision Trip: Two-week visits to major Chinese cities, universities, and ERRC field partners. We encourage all church leaders to join the President of ERRC to worship in China’s open churches, to meet religious studies programs scholars in the leading Chinese universities, and to offer encouragement and prayers to ERRC Field Partners during our annual trip. The trip lasts two-weeks and part of the trip expenses will be income tax deductible.
